Hykon Rose Clover

Trifolium hirtum

Color: Pale Pink

Height: 4-12 inches

An easy low growing annual.  Hykon variety is a popular early maturing variety.  Like other clovers, Rose is a legume which fixes nitrogen in the soil.  Plant in full sun.  Rose clover does well on dry, acidic to neutral soils.  It tolerates even rocky, low fertility conditions.  It does not do well in heavy, wet soils.  Rose clover is well adapted to rangeland conditions and has naturalized to many places in California, though not a true native.  Rose clover generally reseeds well.  Sow seed in the fall.
